Many Montanan’s Scrutinize Tester’s Wilderness Bill More Closely

February 22, 2010

CBU comment: CBU was asked to support the Beaverhead-Deerlodge Partnership.  Because our comments were not seriously considered, CBU could not support the so-called partnership. Now, our comments and concerns are now being voiced by others too. With Tester’s Forest bill, CBU was not invited to offer input and neither were many other important parties that would be affected by this bill.  Now the supporters of the bill have lashed out saying “Sun Mountain Lumber tried to get CBU to the table and they refused to meet.” (as it is posted in Represenative Rehbergs website on wilderness comments).

Was Tester’s wilderness proposal written in secret?

From the day Sen. Jon Tester announced it at a Townsend lumber mill eight months ago, the shorthand on his wilderness and logging bill has gone like this:

Senator Tester is scared to have a meeting or answer questions with anybody in a public forum where he does not control the agenda. The promise to MWA to get more wilderness will run him out of office. He just had a 21.74% approval rating on congressratings.com. He is about to become a really big lame duck!!
Tester and his clan has wrote a bill with no input except from a select few, and he has ignored federal laws, guidelines, federal agencies, the rights of private land holders, and ignored the general will of the public. This bill will do nothing more than promote WEEDS (Wacko Enviro Ethics Destroying Society) policies. While lining the pockets of the WEEDS filing litigation of billions of public tax paying dollars of this country.
