Planned consolidation of ranger districts OK’d
In a move to save money, the Big Timber and Livingston ranger districts of the Gallatin National Forest will be consolidated into the Yellowstone Ranger District.
“The forest wanted to reduce higher-level, higher-paid positions and divert some of the cost savings toward more field-going jobs,” said Mary Erickson, Gallatin and Custer Forest supervisor, in a statement.
