Firewood Cutting Halted Due To Special Order.

Firewood limits near Rock Creek begin.

 A special order by the U.S. Forest Service starting this week makes it illegal to cut firewood in the Lolo National Forest near Rock Creek except in September.

Andy Kulla is the resource staff officer for the Missoula Ranger District. He says the restriction is intended to reverse a firewood poaching trend and protect the blue-ribbon trout stream east of Missoula.
